Six mois après les horribles événements qui leur avaient fait fuir Seattle, Rachel Keller et son jeune fils Aidan se sont réfugiés à Astoria, dans l'Oregon. La journaliste espère oublier ses épreuves dans cette paisible bourgade côtière, mais de nouvelles menaces ne tardent pas à planer sur sa vie.
